We are a small hands-on design agency and print brokerage, based in Dunkley Square, Cape Town. We are all profes-sionals, and have collectively worked for large advertising and design agencies, both locally and overseas. Our objective is to give you, t he client, exactly what you want efficiently and effectively. With our size and hands-on ability, we avoid huge overheads on large waterfront offices and flash company cars, enabling us to charge far below–industry rates, for a better result that you would get from a large ad agency.

Our specialty is design, whether it’s a corporate identity you’rea after or an annual report or monthly news letter. We have a host of preferred suppliers, including repro houses and printers which always provide the best and most competitive costs. Janenne Burchell After working as a junior designer and DTP person for a small Cape Town inhouse agency for 2 years, Janenne lived and worked in the UK for 4 years. While overseas she worked for various
advertising, design and publishing houses. At the same time she freelanced at Estee Lauder, designing their window displays and promotional packaging. Moving up in the world as a middle weight designer at MDDT, she worked on brands such Technics and Panasonic and ended up at Thomsons Travel, re-designing their travel brochures and found herself involved on the publishing side of design. On returning to South Africa, and after briefly freelancing for Hero Design, Janenne established a small design agency with her twin sister Janette. 3 years later, Cohoots In Design is a successful business in all aspects! Both twins enjoy liaising with clients as well as designing and creating, and see all jobs through from concept to delivering the finished product.


Janette Burchell Janette is a qualified graphic designer; and excels in layout, DTP, print brokerage and finished art.She has been in the industry for 10 years, of which 4 were spent working in London.
Her expertise in DTP include skills in Powerpoint, Freehand, Photoshop, Quark and Illustrator. Janette has worked on accounts such as Compaq, Technics, Panasonic, Hewlett Packard, Pringle, Omega Investment Research, IDJ/Via Media, La Kavayan Estate, Saxenburg Wine Farm, Thunder City and Dialogue Communications.


Cindy Burchell Keen on learning about the graphic design and printing industry, Cindy has joined us as an apprentice/junior designer. She handles the preparation for all jobs, big and small, from
scanning, retouching and deep-etching images; to layout, typesetting, artworking, collating mock-ups and assisting in the daily running of the business. Cindy has been with us for almost 2 years, and is working her way up to the level of medium designer and handles all the smaller jobs from start to finish.


Ben Rycroft After working as an account manager for a small Cape Town ad agency for 2 years, Ben lived and worked in Sydney for 5 years. While overseas he worked for various advertising agencies, the last one
being Whybin Lawrence TBWA. During this time he gained immeasurable experience in through-the-line advertising, design, direct marketing and also spent time on the client side. On a holiday back to this country from Australia, he realized the opportunities back in South Africa, and Ben returned home in March 2003. He joined Cohoots as general manager, overseeing the client service and production functions as well as financial control. Ben has worked on brands like St Elmo’s, Telstra, Chrysler Jeep, Toyota, AAPT and Relais & Chateaux.
